Basic phone operation
Switching among handset, speakerphone and
headset mode
To switch from handset to headset or
speakerphone, press [HEADSET] or [ SPEAKER],
then replace the handset. (In order to use the
headset, it must be plugged in.)
To switch from speakerphone to handset, lift the
handset. (Do not press [ SPEAKER] or the call
will be disconnected.)
To switch from speakerphone to headset, insert
the headset plug into the jack on the side of the
telephone base, and press [HEADSET].
To switch from headset to handset when
the handset is in the telephone base, lift the
handset.
To switch from headset to handset when the
handset is off-hook, press [HEADSET] again.
To switch from headset to speakerphone, press
[ SPEAKER].
To override automatic line selection, press
and release a line button. This activates
the speakerphone or headset, whichever is
programmed as the default mode.
Timer
When you make or answer a call, the timer
automatically starts. The screen displays the
elapsed time in minutes and seconds for the
first hour (up to 59:59) and then begins again.
The timer stops automatically when you hang up
and the recorded time is displayed for about 10
seconds. The timer also stops when you place a
call on hold and resets to 00:00 when you release
the hold.
