Erasing a file
You can select a file and erase it.
Note
Once a file has been erased, you cannot retrieve it.
1. Slide the HOLD
POWER ON/OFF switch in the direction of “POWER ON/OFF” to turn on the IC recorder, or
towards the center to release the IC recorder from the HOLD status.
The stop mode window appears.
2. Select the file you want to erase when the IC recorder is in the stop or playback mode.
3. Press ERASE.
“Erase?” appears and the specified file is played back for confirmation.
4. Press or to select “Execute.”

The “Erasing...” animation appears in the display window and the selected file will be erased.
When a file is erased, the remaining files will advance so that there will be no space between files.
Note
You cannot erase a protected file. To erase the file, release the protection first, and then erase the file.
Hint
To cancel erasing, select “Cancel” in step 4, and then press .
To erase a part of a file, divide the file into two files first, and then proceed with steps 3 through 5.

Erasing all files in a folder
You can erase all files in the selected folder.
Press FOLDER to return to the folder window before erasing the files and select a folder from which all files are to be
erased, and then go to the menu window.
1. In the stop mode, select the folder containing the files you want to erase.
2. Select MENU - the tab - “Erase All,” and then press .
“Erase All Files in the Folder?” appears on the display.
3. Press or to select “Execute,” and then press .
The “Erasing...” animation appears in the display window and all files in the selected folder will be erased.
4. Press STOP to exit the menu mode.
