Glossary
Private message: Messages that did not come through the auto attendant.
If the 1080 is not an auto attendant, or if it has a private line, or if the
ANSWER DELAY is shorter than the AUTO ATT DELAY, and if DTAD SETUP
ANSWER STATUS is on, callers will leave private messages.
System extension message: The messages recorded for individual 1070 and
1040 telephones that are associated with a 1080 phone’s auto attendant mailbox
(pages 45-49).
System telephone: Any 1080, 1070 or 1040 telephone in your telephone
system (also called an extension).
Telephone system (or business system): Two or more system telephones
combined to form an interacting system of shared lines. You can have up to
16 system telephones in the system.
